SpeedBox 1.3 B.Tuning for Bosch creates a unique connection between your e-bike and your smartphone, allowing you to remove the speed limiter.

The actual speed and other ride data are displayed in real time in the SpeedBox App – directly on your phone screen.

How does SpeedBox 1.3 B.Tuning for Bosch work?

To properly activate all SpeedBox functions, enter the menu after switching on the e-bike for the first time with the tuning installed and check the wheel circumference setting – required for bikes with older firmware.

Always activate/deactivate tuning before riding, never while riding!

You can activate SpeedBox 1.3 B.Tuning using the mobile app or directly via your e-bike display by shortly activating the WALK assist function (press and hold the “-” button). The display will briefly show 3.5 km/h (2.2 mph), and tuning will be active. You can ride up to 35 km/h or more (max. 99 km/h), but we recommend not exceeding 35 km/h to avoid error codes.

To deactivate tuning, repeat the same action – hold the “-” button to activate WALK assist. The display will show 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph), and the 25 km/h limit will be restored. Your e-bike will function as it did before tuning.

If your e-bike does not have the WALK assist feature, you can activate or deactivate tuning by pressing the following button sequence: - + - +.

Always activate/deactivate tuning before riding, never while riding!

When launching the SpeedBox App for the first time, you’ll be prompted to set a PIN. This PIN will be required for future access. You will also set a service password, used if you forget the PIN or want to change it.

You can change the maximum speed limit by switching assist modes as follows: TURBO → eMTB → TOUR+ → ECO → TOUR+ → eMTB → TURBO. The current speed limit will then be displayed. You can adjust it by briefly activating WALK assist or by rotating the rear wheel 360°. For example:

• 2.5 km/h → 25 km/h
• 3.0 km/h → 30 km/h
• 3.5 km/h → 35 km/h

The last selected limit will be saved after 15 seconds of inactivity.

After your ride, leave the e-bike turned on until 0.0 km/h is shown on the display. A countdown timer will be displayed. Only then is it safe to turn off the e-bike. Do not remove the display before this process completes.

SpeedBox App for SpeedBox 1.3 B.Tuning

The SpeedBox App is designed specifically for B.Tuning chips and uses Bluetooth to connect your e-bike with your smartphone. Once connected, it displays live ride data and stores your trip history for performance tracking or comparison with friends.

SpeedBox 1.3 B.Tuning works independently of the SpeedBox App, but the app adds useful functions and insights into your performance.

Download the SpeedBox App before ordering the chip to test the demo version and check if it runs on your phone. Your phone must support Bluetooth 4.0 or higher.

Assembly

SpeedBox uses original connectors, ensuring quick and correct installation. We provide clear instructions and video tutorials so that anyone can do it. Disassembly is just as easy. Contact us if you need assistance.

For new bikes, ride at least 10 km before activating the tuning chip.

Important:

Connect male and female connectors in the direction of the notch. Do not twist the connectors while connecting.

Additional recommendations

• Do not update your e-bike firmware – it may increase the risk of tuning detection.
• Disable automatic updates in the eBike Flow App settings.
• During short stops, keep one foot on the pedal to prevent triggering the distance countdown.
• Allow the countdown to run partially or fully during longer stops.
• After long rides, the countdown may take several minutes to complete.
• Do not remove the display until the countdown has finished.
• We recommend not exceeding 35 km/h.
