E-bike tuning with Bluetooth and mobile app for Bosch Gen4 motor and Smart System

SpeedBox 1.1 B.Tuning for Bosch connects your e-bike with your smartphone via Bluetooth and removes the speed limiter from your e-bike.

The actual speed and other riding data will be displayed correctly in the SpeedBox App directly on your phone.

How does SpeedBox 1.1 B.Tuning for Bosch work?

After the first installation, open the menu of your e-bike and set the wheel circumference.

Activate/deactivate the tuning before the ride (when the e-bike is standing still), not while riding.

You can control the tuning either via the mobile app or directly on the e-bike’s control unit by shortly activating the WALK assist function (holding the “−” button). The display will show 3.5 km/h (2.2 mph) and the assistance will then be unlocked up to ~35 km/h or more. You can adjust the limit up to 99 km/h, but we recommend not exceeding 35 km/h to reduce the risk of error codes.

To deactivate the tuning, activate WALK again (short press of “−”). The display will show 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph) and the limiter will reset to 25 km/h.

SpeedBox also works with e-bikes that do not have WALK assist enabled. In this case, activate/deactivate the tuning by switching between two assistance modes twice (− + − +).

PIN and service password in the SpeedBox App

When you first open the SpeedBox App, you will be asked to create a new PIN. This PIN will be required each time you open the app. After confirming, you will be prompted to set a service password, used in case you forget the PIN or want to change it.

How to set the maximum speed limit

Switch the modes from TURBO three levels down and back up again: eMTB → TOUR+ → ECO → TOUR+ → eMTB → TURBO. The actual limit will then be displayed.

You can also change the limit by activating WALK or turning the rear wheel 360°. Display values correspond to limits (2.5 = 25 km/h, 3.0 = 30 km/h, 3.5 = 35 km/h, etc.). The last displayed value is saved after 15 seconds.

After the ride

Leave the bike on until 0.0 km/h is displayed and the countdown finishes. Only then turn off the e-bike. Do not remove the display until the countdown is completed.

SpeedBox App for SpeedBox 1.1 B.Tuning

The SpeedBox App is designed for SpeedBox B.Tuning products. It connects your e-bike to your phone via Bluetooth and displays current data, trip parameters, and allows saving and comparing rides.

You can download the app before ordering the tuning chip. Try the demo version and check compatibility. Your phone must support Bluetooth 4.0 or higher.

Assembly

We use original connectors for easy installation. Detailed instructions and videos are available. Removal is just as simple. For brand-new bikes, ride at least 10 km before activating tuning.

Important

Connect male–female connectors in the direction of the lock. Do not rotate the connectors while connecting.

• Always use protective gear.
• Do not update your e-bike firmware – updates increase the risk of detection.
• Disable automatic updates in the eBike Flow App.
• The SpeedBox warranty does not cover issues caused by motor updates.
• Keep one foot on the pedal during short stops to avoid countdown start.
• Allow at least a partial countdown during longer stops.
• After long rides, countdown may take several minutes.
• Do not remove the display until the countdown is finished.
• Activate/deactivate tuning only before the ride, not while riding.
• We recommend not exceeding 35 km/h.
