Smart E-bike Tuning with Adjustable Speed Limit

SpeedBox 3.0 tuning kit allows you to select the speed limit of your choice for your e-bike. After installation, your bike’s display will show real data such as maximum and average speeds, daily mileage, and cruising range.

How Does SpeedBox 3.0 Work?

The tuning kit can be activated directly from your bike’s display. Simply activate the WALK assist function briefly—a value of 9.9 km/h (6.2 mph) will appear, and you’ll be able to ride at speeds of 40 km/h, 50 km/h, or even over 60 km/h.

To deactivate the tuning, activate the WALK assist function again. The value of 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph) will appear, and the speed limit will reset to 25 km/h. Your e-bike will then function just as before the installation of the tuning kit.

SpeedBox was also designed for e-bikes without a classic control unit with the WALK assist function. In this case, you can activate the SpeedBox using the combination of - + - + buttons. Deactivation works the same way.

You can set the maximum speed of electric assistance by changing modes: Turbo - EMTB - Tour - Eco - Tour - EMTB - Turbo. The current speed limit will be displayed after this sequence. Alternatively, you can adjust the limit by briefly activating the WALK assist function or by turning the rear wheel 360°. For example, 1.5 km/h corresponds to a 15 km/h limit, 2.0 km/h for 20 km/h, 2.5 for 25 km/h, 3.0 for 30 km/h, and 9.9 for 99 km/h. The last displayed limit will be saved after 5 seconds of inactivity.

When using SpeedBox 3.0 with Bosch 4th generation motors (produced in 2020 or later), you must leave the bike on after finishing your ride until 0.0 km/h appears on the display. During this process, the remaining time will be displayed in minutes. After that, it is safe to turn off your bike and get ready for your next trip.

Assembly

Connecting the SpeedBox to your e-bike is easy thanks to color-coded connectors. We’ve prepared detailed instructions and videos to make installation simple for you. Disassembly is just as straightforward. If you experience any issues during installation or removal, don’t hesitate to contact us.

If you plan to install SpeedBox on a brand-new bike, make sure you ride at least 10 km before activating the tuning.

Warning

Please note that operating this type of modified electric bike on public roads may be illegal in some countries. The manufacturer takes no responsibility for damages resulting from the use of SpeedBox products. E-bikes equipped with SpeedBox are not allowed on public roads, cycling paths, or public places. They are intended for use on private property and at your own risk. Using SpeedBox may void your e-bike’s warranty.

We strongly recommend using additional safety features and protective gear to prevent injuries.

We recommend not updating your e-bike’s firmware, as updates may increase the risk of tuning detection.

Please note that the SpeedBox warranty does not cover malfunctions caused by motor firmware updates.

When stopping for a short time, we recommend keeping one foot on the pedal to prevent the countdown from starting. For longer stops, allow at least a partial countdown. After a long ride, the countdown may take several minutes. Do not remove the display until the countdown is complete.
